Jamba Juice lets corporate staffers work from home

The corporate office for Hawaii’s Jamba Juice franchise is going virtual.

The smoothie franchise, which also owns the Hawaii franchise for P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, is subleasing its 5,868-square-foot office space on the second floor of the Hokua condominium on Ala Moana Boulevard and setting up its 22 employees in home offices.

Although the company will be saving some money from not keeping an office, the decision was made more as a lifestyle change, said Dean McPhail, CEO of Jamba Juice in Hawaii.

The idea was born out of meetings with general managers of the franchises’ 36 Jamba Juice stores in Hawaii, who said that they loved the flexibility of their jobs.
