UAL Corp
UAUA 6.56, +0.51, +8.4%) , said Wednesday on its Web site that it will join other airlines and begin charging very obese passengers for a second seat. Under the new guidelines, passengers who are unable to fit into a single seat in the ticketed cabin; unable to properly buckle the seatbelt using a single seat-belt extender; or unable to put the seat's armrests down when seated will have to buy a second ticket. The guidelines apply to tickets purchased on or after March 4 for travel on or after April 15.
